Kasol Travel Guide 2026: Places, Kheerganga Trek, Stays & Budget

Kasol is tiny — but it's the doorway to the whole Parvati Valley, one of India's most-loved laid-back travel regions. Think a glacial river, pine forests, a famous café scene, and treks that range from easy to epic. Whether you want to chill or trek to a hot spring above the clouds, here's how to plan your Kasol trip.

Places to visit around Kasol

  • Kasol village — riverside cafés serving Israeli–Himachali food.
  • Chalal — a calm 20-minute riverside walk from Kasol.
  • Tosh — a higher hamlet with sweeping valley views; great for an overnight.
  • Manikaran Sahib — a gurudwara with natural hot springs.
  • Malana — an ancient, insular village (respect their customs strictly).

The Kheerganga trek

The headline experience: a roughly 12 km round trip from Barshaini through forest and waterfalls to a natural hot spring at about 3,000 m, with 360° mountain views. It's moderate and doable for reasonably fit first-timers — trek up in 4–6 hours, camp overnight, and descend the next day.

Best time to visit Kasol

March–June and September–November are ideal for trekking and pleasant weather. Monsoon (July–August) is lush but slippery, and winter is cold, quiet and atmospheric.

Itinerary & budget

  1. Day 1: Arrive, Chalal walk, café evening.
  2. Day 2: Manikaran + Tosh, overnight in Tosh.
  3. Day 3: Kheerganga trek + camp.
  4. Day 4: Descend, depart.

Kasol is budget-friendly — a 3N/4D trip runs about ₹8,000–14,000 per person mid-range. To get the Kheerganga camps, stays and transfers sorted, these Kasol tour packages start around ₹7,999 per person.

Pair it with Manali (80 km) for a longer trip — see our Kasol tour packages or message HimTrails (4.9★, 3,973+ travellers) on WhatsApp.
